Our work strives to enhance our sense of surroundings, identity and relationship to others and the physical spaces we inhabit, whether feral or human-made.
At the rear of the house was a Victorian timber framed conservatory housing a substantial vine of a similar age. The Client needed to replace the conservatory because of its condition and with the Architect developed a contemporary design. The vine was retained and protected throughout.
Piled foundations were designed with ground beams mostly above ground level to avoid disturbance of the root zone.
The steel frame is aligned with the glazing to minimise visual impact.
