CONTRACT:
Private House, Radlet, Hertfordshire
CLIENT:
D A Cook (Builders) Ltd
ARCHITECT:
Eastabrook Architects
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER:
O’Brien & Price Cheltenham Ltd
CONTRACTOR:
Atlantic Contracts Ltd

DESCRIPTION:

The house is a replacement for the original 1930’s house on a confined site.

It incorporates a basement with a swimming pool, plant room, AV room and gym, which necessitated a 5.5m deep excavation only 2m from the neighbour’s house.

O’Brien & Price Cheltenham Ltd undertook all of the structural design and detailing for the house including the RC basement structure, concept design of the basement temporary works, concrete upper floors, and traditional ‘cantilevered’ stone staircase.
